I've been following a blog called Simple Mom for a while now. She features tips for simplifying your life in practical ways.
Recently she opened up a whole slew of related sites, including Simple Bites, which helps simplify life in the kitchen.
To celebrate, she's having a giveaway! Go check it out!

Craft Hope for Haiti
I think the disaster in Haiti speaks to us all. And like many people, I want to help but have been at a loss as to the best way. I am not working and the end of my husband's job is looming (though thankfully it keeps getting pushed back). Like many families today, we do not have much disposable income.
What I DO have, however, is a lot of craft supplies. A LOT. I am a bit of a fabric hound, and I'm disorganized, and I get all excited about a project and stock up on what I need for it, then loose steam or get distracted.
If only there was a way to turn craft supplies into disaster relief...
Enter Craft Hope. This is a community of crafters who give of themselves to various causes. Sending blankets and quilt to children in need. Knitting and crocheting scarves for foster kids. That sort of thing.
They have opened an Etsy.com site called Craft Hope for Haiti. (I'm blogging from my phone right now, so I can't post a link, but go to etsy.com and search for the user "crafthope.") Crafters from all over the world are donating items to sell through the site, and 100% of the purchase price is going to Doctors Without Borders. The shop is run purely on volunteers and donations. In just two days, it has already raised over $7,000!
I listed a casserole carrier I recently made, and I think it sold as it's no longer on the site. I'll get an email with the buyer information, and ship it out. I didn't have to send it to someone to list and sell, I just sent pictures and a description with a selling price, and I'll mail the carrier directly to the buyer.
It's that easy! I'm hoping to make some more items, use up some of my craft supply buildup and give to the cause.
I'm not bragging here. I'm just passing along the information, because I know there's a lot of crafty people out there looking for ways to help and not knowing quite how. Many crafters have the same tendency I do to stock up supplies and not use them all. This could be a good way to reduce some clutter, get that crafting itch scratched, and do some good in the world.
If you're interested in participating, visit www.crafthope.org for information on how to donate. Or visit etsy.com to shop. And please spread the word. Anyone can be creative, and even those not convinced of their crafting skills can shop.
